The Bureau of Rec is plans to start its flush at midnight on March 22nd next week. The flushing flow will continue for 10 days. The flows will increase until they peak at 4000 cfs and will come back down to the normal flow of 500cfs by 10am. The fishing is typically great if you get upstream of the high flow after 10am. The high flows stir up a lot of food for the fish and can cause the fishing to be good. Please keep in mind that it takes a while for the sections downstream of the upper Grey Reef to drop to it’s normal flow.

Sunday March 1oth 2013
Your Platte River Fishing Report for Sunday March 1oth 2013. Fly Fishing Guide Hooly Henson was out today. She has been working behind a desk this winter for Neighbors Drilling. She loves the people she works with and says they are a great company to work for, but her office on the river is refreshing. What can beat a job on the river doing what you love to do? She had a lot of fun with her guests today and caught a bunch of trout. According to Hooly the chocolate pine squirell leech and a size 14 rockworm were the best flies.

Saturday March 9th 2013
This is your Platte River Fly Fishing Report for Saturday March 9th 2013. We had some minor flurries today on the river. The fishing was good but it was a little chilly. I had the pleasure of guiding Greg Gilbert from Cheyenne Wyoming. This is his second year of fly fishing and he is becoming an excellent fly fisherman! Same flies working. Rock worms, leechs, eggs, and midges.
